Alicia Burford

Master of Counselling Practice (Current); Bachelor of psychological Science (2018)

Alicia is an empathetic, kind and encouraging counsellor.

She is passionate about understanding a person’s story and journey from their perspective and providing a safe space to help people through the multiple and often complex challenges of life.

Alicia has a sound understanding of mental health and mental wellbeing. Due to her own life journey she has a particular interest and passion for helping people who feel overwhelmed with stress and anxiety.  Alicia is also compassionate to women who find it difficult to see themselves as valuable and hopes that through a therapeutic process she can empower women who have low self-esteem.

Alicia is willing to work with clients who wish to integrate their Christian faith as a resource during counselling.  She uses an integrated therapeutic approach in her counselling, particularly drawing from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
