Adam Cootes

Master of Counselling Practice (current), B.App.Sc. Physiotherapy

Adam studied his undergraduate degree as a physiotherapist. After realising
the limitations of only working with the neuro-musculo-skeletal system of the
body in attempting to help people with their pain, he went on to study some
interesting aspects of Osteopathy in Visceral Manipulation and Craniosacral
Therapy, Somato-emotional Release, along with Nutritional Medicine, Mind-
Body Science and is now completing his Master’s in Counselling.

Adam brings to his work wisdom from the Eastern mystical traditions of Yoga
and Buddhism as well as pain science, emotional science and modern
psycho-spiritual philosophies, creating an integrated model of working with
the mind and body. Adam’s special interests in both new science and old
wisdom have led him to explore some interesting new avenues in working
with both stress and trauma. Adam’s role as a therapist involves being a
facilitator for clients to change their pain, illness, stress or emotional
challenge by understanding its true origin and giving them the tools to change
it.
