Abbey Fijolek

Master of Counselling Practice (Current); Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional and Dietetic Medicine)

Abbey knows firsthand the challenges of living with a chronic illness, poor mental health and facing hardship and uses these experiences to authentically and intuitively connect with the people she meets. Her heart is to convey hope and encouragement that these challenges can be overcome when given the practical skills and support needed to regain health and wellbeing.

With her previous studies in Nutritional Medicine and her experience in individual and couples therapy, she offers a holistic approach to counselling that gently seeks to work with you towards the healthy functioning and flourishing of your mental, physical and spiritual health.

I believe wholeheartedly in the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship, one that’s genuine and honest. My focus is to take a client-centered approach and be sensitive to what is most meaningful for you to process, heal and grow. My approach draws from multiple schools of thought including Gestalt Therapy, CBT, SFT, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and The Gottman Method and always expanding as I learn more myself.

I have a strong Christian faith and am always willing to help clients draw from their own beliefs within therapy sessions.

I am available to work with both individuals and with couples and genuinely look forward to meeting you in session
